He claimed to be from the council's Birmingham head office and was calling about a complaint about problems in the house. It was a scam, he was a man with a Punjabi accent and a totally unprofessional approach, trying to catch you in his petty game.

A person with strongly accented English called to ask if I had problems with damp in my flat. I had a little difficulty understanding them at first, and when I told them no, they hung up quickly.

Could hardly understand a word being said but between the lines gathered I'd made a complaint about damp and wanted to help me claim. A few well chosen expletives was enough to see him off.
