SCAMMERS!!!!! ------------------------------------ Called me today claiming to be from British Gas and there has been a mix-up with our Gas account being listed at another property and they needed info from our gas bill to prevent a large invoice being given to us. Had a spare 10 minutes and had my computer to hand, so I played dumb for a moment. After getting into my British Gas account (my actual one) I asked the chap for a couple of bits of info for my security, so asked him to confirm what my current standing charge is - he kept trying to give me other stuff instead & then when I insisted on him confirming the standing charge on my account he then just kept throwing out random number & insisting he was correct lol! He then demanded to know when my contract ends, so I played along some more and said something daft like 12th Jan 2754. Eventually he told me to get a life and hung up. I like winding them up when given the chance :-) Stay safe folks.

Called claiming to be from EDF energy wanting to double check supply numbers as there has be potential problems getting smart meter information syncing to issue correct bill.

Rang up calling issue with the meters.... from British Gas. tried calling the number back, surprise surprise it doesn't ring.

Claimed to be from British Gas Lite and gave me all the correct meter numbers & addresses then asked me to confirm when our latest plan was ending - this has nothing to do with incorrect meter readiness and when pushed to give me a number I could call back to verify kept trying to insist that I give them the info they didnt have.

Trying to state that our meter readings where not going through correct then demanding company info - hung up and they rang again! Told them I was reporting them and they went away but they keep trying every month

Claimed to be working for Smartest Energy and requested billing details and contract end dates. Phishing!

They claimed to work for the gas company and flagged some issue with the usage logs but when i pressed on the source of the gripe she dodged and started asking for account bits instead total red flag setup to snag details under false pretenses.
