Obvious lie as I know our electricity meter is ok and does record, I don't k now how this would lead to costing me anything?, but they just stopped when I challenged them - pointless 21st century nonsense

Called claiming to be octopus energy regarding replacing my
Electric meter as my electric meter hadnt been working for 3 months, I said my meter was fine, he insistently told me my bills are estimated check my bill- opened my app and nope all charged as per smart meter.
I said nope not estimated, he insisted it was and I needed to have my meter changed and gave details. I said he should email me all the details to my registered email as how do I know it was genuinely octopus (I knew it wasnt genuine at all), and he hung straight up!

Called by number from Lydney uk- never heard of it. Answered it but no one there possibly a phishing call. I usually get lots more calls once this has happened.

Energy advisor called about bill reductions, but it felt scripted and suspicious. Asked for too much info, likely a scam.
