Asked for someone I don’t know, said wrong number, felt like a scam, blocked

I have just received a call from 01205540802 from someone with a strong accent (Asian?) who said they were calling from EE about a number of complaints. I asked where they had got my number from and was told it was system generated. I could hear lots of other voices in the background. I strongly told the person that this is a scam and that I do not want to hear from them again. Apparently, although the number states Boston England, there are ways of falsely making it seem as if the call is from England.

They phoned two days running about a Free Boiler from the Government. When she asked date of Birth - what has my age got to do with a Boiler. I told her where to go not very politely.

Received a call about free loft insulation through a supposed government scheme. They wanted personal info upfront and got cagey when I questioned them. My phone flagged it as a scam. Dangerous.
