Got a cold call from The Tax Advisory Group offering tax advice. Didn’t sound professional at all. Googled them after the call and found some worrying reviews.

They called me several times a day for a week, each time from a different person. They demanded bank details to process a so-called ‘tax refund’. Defo scammish!

Don't trust this number. Called claiming to be from HMRC regarding tax refund, but they couldn’t answer any of my questions and hung up abruptly when I challenged them.

This number called me during work hours asking for personal financial information. When I declined, they insisted I needed to "sort out my refund". Seems very shady.

"Georgia", from a firm calling itself The Tax Advisory Group, said I had some sort of tax refund due for interest paid to me on a PPI claim. She was very persistent. She asked me to sign something giving her authority to deal with HMRC on my behalf. In fact my records show that no tax refund is due. The Tax Advisory Group is a trading name of Lage Solution Ltd, which was wound up in June 2022. A quick trawl of the web seems to indicate that the activities of this company are crooked.

Received a call from this number claiming I had unclaimed PPI compensation. They wanted personal details that I refused to provide. Felt like a scam.
