Claimed to be from BT saying that my internet address was no longer private and was being used for illegal purposes.
I was actually chatting to BT Help on my iPad at the time, reviewing my contract!!
When I asked him to prove he was from BT who offered to provide me with the UK customer licence number.
I challenged him that it was a scam call and he hung up.
Since I was already chatting to BT I reported the call directly and they confirmed it was not from them.
The call was actually intended for my 86 year old mother who lives alone and it was complete luck that I was there to intercept it for her it I’m sure she would have been scammed
