Said they were from my mobile & broadband provider (I have very recently entered new contracts - how did they know?) and said something about a promotion and offering a 40 % discount on future bills. I said 'oh?' but probably sounded suspicious asking what that would involve, and whether they were genuine, and you couldn't be too careful these days. They seemed to back off. I called my provider through their app and they said it was a scam. After that I seem to have accidentally called the scam number back and it was difficult to hang up. All rather stressful and confusing,
