Dan the scam man. I told him as much. As per the other reports, he rang regarding a fictional house repair, despite my answering the phone as my business line... Don't fall for what is obviously a con.

Caller pretended to be from a housing repair service which makes no sense for where I live. It felt completely fake.

Phoned me today, literally 10 minutes after reporting a council repair to my local,council. Introduced himself to be Dan. Kept referring to me as 'ma'am' with what sounded like a slight American accent. I live in UK. He tried to portray that he had became aware about my repair job from my local councilcrepairs team. When I asked him to quote my job number and address he said he could not as he did not work for the Council. He tried leaving me to believe he had been made aware about my job from the Council without committing himself entirely. He repeatedly asked me about damp and mould even though my booked repair with the Council was unrelated. As soon as he mentioned compensation I could seek, I knew immediately his call was a scam. He also resorted to being impatient with me when he said; 'as I have already told you ma'am' which was another BIG giveaway. A very slippery character indeed for whom I took great pleasure hanging up on.

Guy called Dan called. He said I had put in a request to have repairs carried out then asked me where the water ingress was. Said to him if I had put a request in for repairs he would already have that information. Immediately hung up. Number blocked

Someone called Dan calling about my housing issues, eg damp and mould. Told him I didn't have any issues but he carried on until I hung up. Unlikely to be a scam, just a firm cold calling, which is illegal these days anyway.
