Noisy call centre - couldn't make out what was said - but definitely a scam.

a woman spaeking from a noisey call centre trying to send me a scam call blocking device. Knew my name and address. Asked if I was a pensioner and said I would qualify for the one time offer of £1.75. Sounds a bit cheap so I may have got that wrong. When I asked the name of her company it wasnt my phone provider so I put the phone down and somewhat Ironically blocked the number. I suspect she was after my credit card number.

Knew my name and postcode and was asking me to pay £179 for a service to avoid nuisance calls etc etc and because I am a pensioner which Jim knew I was I could get a discount down to the £179, obviously a scam, so I said goodbye and hung up.

Knew my name, started talking about a landline security device. Sounded like lots of people in the background in a call centre. Put the phone down as obviously a scam.

Wanted me to confirm my address. Wanted to send me some device to block scam calls. When I asked for further information they hung up. They seem to have the correct address though.

Had a call saying this is Michael calling asking if I wanted to stop nuisance calls and they would send 'a device'!
Asked for name of company he replied 'Michael Calling'!
He also used name of previous resident, knew the address but became frustrated/annoyed when I asked questions.
He's going to write to me!!!
Hope the device stops scammers like him.

Definitely a scam to by pass your number and control it!

called and asked if I was a Mr Webster who last lived here 29 years ago and offered to post a box that we just had to plug into our landline to stop nuisance calls which is quite ironic. She hung up when I gave vague answers. Always avoid saying yes or no as bots can pick up your voice and use it as confirmation for purchases.

Someone calling himself William. Knee my name and postcode. Was on about sending a device to stop scam calls on my landlines. When questioned who he was working for became vague. Started asking if I was a pensioner and if I was the Bill payer. I told him that I didn't have many calla on my landlines and that he seemed to be scammer. He hung up.....preying on vulnerable people I suspect?
