Caller was posing as my provider. (except that isn't my provider) I was wondering if they have a list via a breach or were just spearfishing

This number called me, posing as my phone provider, asked me to confirm my email address and personal details so they renew my phone contract. I gave no details and asked them to email me, he asked for my email address and I just told them that they have that on my file. And I hung up. Never give your details on a call.
