*SPAM* Call us about once a week. Always say they are British Gas or British Gas Lite. Claim there is a mismatch in our meter readings and five other businesses on this road are mixed up and they need to check all details etc. This is absolute rubbish and whenever I start quizzing them they just hang up.

Claimed to be from EDF Energy wanting our meter number

SCAM SCAM SCAM.. calls us everyday! says its to do with the address on our EON account. We confirmed with EON its B**locks but they wont leave us alone!!!

Claimed to be from British Gas Lite, checking meter numbers against postcodes. Quite convincing but when they started asking to confirm directors and names I got rid of them.

Claimed to be from British Gas Lite - quoted our meter point reference number, wanted us to confirm other details on our invoice. Hung up and informed British Gas Lite incase they attempt to try anything on.

Called our business yesterday asking to talk to someone about our British Gas electric account. Said we have partially incorrect address details which need to be updated (this bit is actually true which almost swayed me). Then they triggered a password re-set email while I was on the phone and then asked me to read out the code in the email which was a huge red flag. Became very insistent and rude when I said we would go directly to British Gas ourselves to sort the issue - another red flag. Called back just now and I shut them down.

Faking gas outfit, same line on big leak of info and need our input. Heard variants before.

Posed as the gas company and pushed to sign in online for details.

We are a business address, they asked for the accounts department - told me they were from Eon and a bill was outstanding but we aren't supplied by Eon so they are clearly scamming.

I have just had a call from them on our business line saying they are from EDF, but I googled the number to check! Thanks all that added a comment.

Said was from Octopus energy wanting to confirm end of contract date. I said cold call and I wouldn't provide he continued saying from Octopus and not selling me anything. He did have my gas serial number and post code but I think anyone in the industry can have that. Think just wanting to obtain info when contract ends to sell on to other energy suppliers.

Claimed to be calling from our energy provider Scottish Power - wanted to discuss a recent invoice and claimed that the meter readings 'we had' submitted were incorrect and for a different postcode. I asked who submitted the meter readings, 'we did' on the 27th Dec which is funny because the business was closed that day so when I asked for a number to call them back on, he told me that the number wasn't available - alarm bells!!! as soon as I pulled him up for the scam he cut the line.. SCAM SCAM SCAM

Based somewhere in Asia, using this UK fake number, a Woman pretending to be from British gas - seeking information from our company invoice. They are quite convincing unfortunately. We are an existing customer of Br Gas. She had my personal name and our account number. They somehow have infiltrated B Gas for this information but clearly need more. The same attempt was made about a year ago. I believe they attempt to find out who they can target for new business and either get bank details or worse. I complained then to Br Gas. Not enough being done by British Gas to prevent this continuing scam. Good luck!
