Called today, rang twice and hung up , I phoned back got automated answer saying something about energy and to press 1. I was expecting call from energy provider so did but couldn’t understand auto answer, hung up.

Every sign of being a scam. No one answers when you pick up the phone. If you are rash enough to call back you ge a robotic message saying "This is energy department. Press one........" I have had exactly the same experience with other numbers beginning 01746.
