Indian call centre with agents with anglicised names - PCP scam so hung up & blocked

Call from a woman with an accent telling me something about benefits. The whole chat felt odd so I ended the call.

Phone rang first thing in the morning. I did not recognise the number and there was no voicemail. Feels like another pointless ghost call.

Refused to say who they were calling from - only that they "weren't trying to sell anything". Rubbish - and demonstrates that the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) is useless.

foreign caller could barely speak English. very pushy and demanding - said 'You HAVE to confirm your details it's for government, asked for name, address, dob & email'. I said government have my details on the electoral register and she said, they have to be confirmed verbally. Load of rubbish, I hung up. I hope not too many people, especially older one, fall for this
