Had a call today from them claiming to be from Scottish Power. They offered a tariff deal for me. Good thing I googled the number as who knows what I could’ve said. They know unfortunately my address so hopefully that’s not going to lead to ripple effects. Reported the number and will do some security checks over the weekend.

Phoned as if from Scottish Power offering better deal. Unnervingly had my details and knew my balance with SP. Went through security and stupidly I gave some information but didn’t agree to change tariff but for her to phone again tomorrow when had time to think. Phoned Scottish Power to be told it’s a scam. Does the fact that she knew my balance mean Scottish Powers computers have been compromised? Hope not.

Said they were from Scottish Power and wanted to discuss my tariff and then proceeded to ask my details name and address etc. I said I don’t discuss that on phone and asked him to send me a letter with the details and he said he couldn’t. I then said I’m happy with what I have and hung up.

Scottish girl called saying from Scottish power and wanted to discuss my tariff I said on to see where it would go and then she asked for my house details I said I would t discuss this over the phone due to scammers and she said ok

18th December 2025 Quite convincing but unexpected. He said he was from Scottish Power.

Blocked number as was calling a lot, but i did think it was Scottish Power trying to get me to have a smart meter! Glad ive blocked the number, as i can see that they have tried to call me twice today!

I received a call from 0141 724 1955 which appeared on my phone as Scottish Power, so i answered it. The person on the phone was Scottish, so i listened. She said she wanted to discuss my current tarriff because i may not be on the right one since the increase in energy prices. I had no time for the call, so asked her to call back next day. I have since spoken to Scottish Power Live Chat on their website and their reply was "I believe this number is associated with a utility scam, please block the number", Number is blocked now so i suggest everybody do the same.

Shows up as Scottish Power on my phone. I Messaged Scottish Power through their app its not a number they are associated with and was advised not to answer it again.

Would give every indication of being a scammer. Best just not to pick up. As it's an unknown number with an 0141 area code, it's not a locality I would return calls to, anyway.

It's the wrong number for Scottish power, when I said I wasn't interested they got a bit angry so I hung up and blocked the number

Claimed to be from Scottish Power and offering a money-saving change of tariff. When I told him that I had never ever received a cold phone call from Scottish Power before, he couldn't get off the line quick enough. Scam, but initially convincing. Beware!
