Called asking for our energy account number, I just hung up.

Claimed to be from British Gas, googled the number whilst he was waffling on, when he stopped to take a breath, I told him that I'd googled the number and it said the number wasn't from British Gas and it was likely a scam. He hung up on me!

Claimed to be my energy supplier and warned of billing problems caused by a technical error. The details were incorrect and misleading.

Called advising that he was from British gas, wanting meter information. We told him that we knew he was a scammer and he persistently called and told us that our meter was now being closed off and shut down!! We had to block the number on all devices.

I had a call from British Gas - again insisting that there were issues with the metering - they had an old address for us. Told me he couldn't email in even when I said that I couldn't believe a company such as British Gas must surely be able to email. Googled the number whislt i was on the call and these details came up
