Said they were British Gas and my bill couldn’t be generated because the meter number was wrong. Wanted info from my invoice. Clearly fishing.

The caller keeps ringing our office saying they are from EDF and due to a technical issue we need to provide them with our meter serial number and account information. We have refused to do this and after finding the number on your site with similar comments told them we were reporting them today.

I had a call from this number on 14/07/2025 - claiming to be from YU Energy and that they wanted to check my account details. They seemed to have all the information already and wanted to "check/update their records" I gave them no information as they seemed to have evrything already - but beware - this is an Indian phishing/scam number
