Had call yesterday - saying british gas..... they called again this morning (recognised the voice) and this time an Amesbury number... beware they change the number.....

The caller said he was from British Gas and there was an issue getting the correct meter reading. I have called British Gas and it wasn't them.

Same, Asian gentleman, saying there had been a mix up with another business' meter. Gave me the correct account number, then asked me to verify the top meter number, which I said no to, he then hung up. Luckily I had googled the number whilst first talking to him and this page made me realise it was a SCAM...thank you!

They rang me claiming to be from Eon Next. Buggeration factor is that this is my business that they rang and I'm in fully serviced accomodation. Told them ''nice try lad but your a SCAMMING cnut'' and hung up.

It was EDF and they had my first name - Mrs Sam, knew that I had 2 accounts - gas and electricity at the registered address. Slightly worrying as to how they received this information. Asked them to email me on one of the emails registered to the account. I haven't received anything. I have blocked the number now.

Claimed to be from EDF metering department, said that there had been a mix up with other business meters in the area and that our previous invoice would have been wrong, wanted us to confirm meter numbers and addresses - No thanks , have just checked the list of approved EDF numbers and this is not one of them, call was ended!

Pretended to be from the power company when i pushed for written confirmation they threatened to flag me as difficult on the records i rang my real supplier and they confirmed no such outreach total pressure tactic to get you talking and sharing stuff so always verify direct and report these fakes to cut down on the harassment they cause especially for folks relying on legit service updates.

Has called persistently, claiming there's a meter reading problem. They did have my supply number and address, and the correct supplier, but I didn't confirm the details they had. They also wouldn't give a number for me to call back on.

Gentleman saying he was from EDF Energy and there had been a mix up between another companies meter number and ours, resulting in this months invoice being incorrect, and needed invoice numbers and meter details. Number now blocked here, scam.

This was a scam call pretending to be from British Gas and demanding that we give them the information RIGHT NOW! He said our meter reading number was showing as incorrect when they inputted it into the system. Tried to get me to confirm our details but I would not. I told him that we had never had a call with British Gas that required pressuring us to give information now and that we would call British Gas back ourselves this afternoon. He was not happy and called us rude. HE was rude. Be wary!!
