EON trying to make me have a smart meter. I am within my legal rights not to but they insist on phoning despite repeated emails clearly stating the law. This is harassment.

Pushy woman pushing for smart meter installation - claiming to be from EON. Stating my current meter has reached its 'end of life' and they have a legal obligation to replace the meter. Asked for name & address for security checks. Quite pushy when I said I didn't want one, asked why and explained its more convenient as you don't have to take readings yourself. Told them NO, and she explained that she would 'opt me out' of any further correspondence on the issue. Hmmm we will see!

Rang again today EON will not take no for my answer to a smart meter, they have not yet perfected them, I worked in the same utilitie and decided that the amount of problems with them not working properly, it was not for our household been a lot of hassle for many consumers. So it's a no not for us thank you.

They have rung a total of 5 times this week. This happens monthly along with emails and texts. I don't answer and let it go to voicemail as I don't want a smart meter. Been going on since I switched to them.

onzo have publicly said that they can process smart meter data to derive information about people's lifestyles. Do a search for 'onzo smart meter meta data' .... and be frightened ! Rang 3 times in a short time each time insisting that a smart meter must be fitted. Ignored them.

I too was called by a persistent harassing woman with a posh sounding voice telling me I must change to a smart meter as my existing meter is life expired and must legally be replaced. Despite me telling her I do not wast a smart meter she persisted to press and insisting I gave a date for the replacement to take place. In the end I told her as we were getting nowhere I would hang up and did so. Here whole tone was authoritarian and one of talking down. If this is genuinely from Eon they need to train staff to be much more customer friendly.

EON's monthly call claiming my electric meter is EOL, trying to force me onto a smart meter, despite logging complaints with EON.

Said they were eOn, seemed like they were eOn as they had genuine information. Same as others say that the meter is end of life which is also recorded on the account, but they have had a full an honest update from me as to why they can't change the meter at this property at this point in time. I have asked them numerous times to record that information on the account and to stop calling me about it almost weekly and yet again another call today. Today's person was rude and even when I was telling him the upsetting reason that I can't deal with the situation at the moment and he would have clearly heard that I was distressed he continued to harass me and was actually laughing at me. I pointed out that he was rude and that I could hear he was laughing at me he even agreed that he was and continued to do so. Eventually I had enough and he clearly wasn't going to stop harassing me so I put the phone down and collected this number. Called eOn who can't tell me if it is genuine or not.

Yes it was eon who persist in telling me my meter has reached the end of its life. I do nt want a smart meter as the signal it relies upon is weak & intermittent yet I’m still being bullied.
