Do you remember party lines? When you’d pick up the phone and hear Mrs. Johnson from next door gossiping away? Anyone born pre-1970 may not know what party lines are, but all that can be said is that times have certainly changed! Now we’re navigating the world of digital voice services and today, we’re comparing TalkTalk digital voice and our own Phonely service. So, settle into your favourite armchair, and let’s unravel this modern telephone mystery together.

TalkTalk digital voice: Members only?

TalkTalk has stepped into the digital voice party, but it seems they’re being a bit selective about who they invite to dance. If you’re already waltzing with TalkTalk and upgrading to their full fibre package, you’re in luck. For everyone else? Well, it’s a bit like trying to join a cricket club without knowing how to play.

Phonely: Come one, come all

Here at Phonely, we believe everyone deserves a seat at the digital voice table. Whether you’ve been with us for years or you’ve just heard our name for the first time, our service is ready and waiting. It’s like hosting a village fête – everyone’s invited, and there’s plenty of fun to go around!

Unlike TalkTalk digital voice customers, anyone is invited to the Phonely party!

Features & benefits: Let’s break it down

Call quality: As clear as a bell?

Both services offer good call quality, but Phonely has an ace up its sleeve – our CallGuard feature. It’s like having a vigilant postmaster, sorting out the good calls from the junk mail before it even reaches you. Those scam callers will find it incredibly tough to get through to you. With TalkTalk, you might find yourself playing receptionist to unwanted callers.

Setup: Easy peasy or as complicated as quantum physics?

At Phonely, we’ve made our setup process simpler than following a recipe for beans on toast. Whether you’re in your golden years or just starting out, you’ll have your new phone service running in no time. You can choose from our printed instructions and videos, or chat with a real UK-based person.

TalkTalk often requires existing customers to navigate through their loyalty or support teams to confirm availability and set up digital voice, which can be cumbersome especially if you just want to talk to someone for help. If you search deep enough you will find set-up instructions and the odd video.

Customer support: A friendly chat or a game of Chinese whispers?

Need a hand? At Phonely, we’re always ready for a natter. Our support team is like that friendly librarian who always knows exactly which book you’re looking for.

TalkTalk’s support feels like more of a do-it-yourself adventure. It feels less accessible due to its focus on existing customers and reliance on self-service through community forums There are lots of FAQs and suggested links. We eventually found the online chat, and a support number after around 10 clicks.

Phonely offer a more personal service to TalkTalk's digital voice

Value for money: A good deal or a dent in your pension?

Phonely offers straightforward pricing that won’t have you reaching for your reading glasses to spot hidden charges. We’re all about clarity – plain and simple. Unlimited calls to UK landlines and mobiles are just £14.76 per month. You also get robust scam protection with this plan, too.

TalkTalk’s call pricing is not obvious as they don’t take on new digital voice customers, and sadly, we don’t know what existing customers are paying.

The final say: Who wins the phone-off?

When comparing Phonely and TalkTalk digital voice services, Phonely emerges as the superior choice for several reasons. Its inclusivity for new customers, user-friendly setup, superior security features like CallGuard, and transparent pricing make it an attractive option for anyone looking to move over to digital voice. While TalkTalk provides a solid service for its existing customer base, Phonely’s broader appeal and enhanced features give it the edge in this comparison.

Keep your confidence with Phonely and don’t let the digital voice kerfuffle leave you in a tizzy. With our knowledgeable support team, technology won’t feel like a barrier to the next generation of phone communication.
