I was unsure as the number was so close to the genuine one . However British Gas have never cold called me ,only after phoning meter readings will tell me I may get a call back for a survey of satisfaction of the service . I hung up immediately.

Claimed to be from British gas and my meter was old and needed updating to smart netwr I said no thankyou and she asked why i said don't trust them she then started telling ne the benefits I just hung up...

Called twice today - background noise, pause before speaking, foreign accent, says they are from British Gas. I suspect that they really might be from British Gas, I know they do want to speak to people about Smart meters, but I'm a bit suspicious. There was a 90 person wait when I tried BG "chat" to check the number.

Foreign woman said she was called Gillian and was from British Gas. She said their records show I have an old type meter and would I like a smart meter. I said No. She asked why and I replied that I didn’t trust them. She ended the call. If this is a scam and she knew my name and that I had an old type meter with British Gas, then it’s certainly a dangerous call. I could easily have been taken in

This number sent message to me ,that they will contact me to repair my meter reading , but I never booked this repair ! So I will block this number! I checked my account on british gas , there are nothing about this repair ! Most important there was click option under phone number ! Very dangerous scam !

South African call centre pretending to be British Gas stating your smart meter is not working. Ask to have your data removed from their database, hang up immediately and block number,

I got an auto email msg from the VOIP provider who hosts my old landline number. I haven't yet built up enthusiasm to listen to the recorded audio! Do you remember getting phone calls? 😀😀😀

Received 5 calls from this number in a week. When answer machine kicks in the caller doesn't leave any messages so I don't respond by returning their calls. This is obviously a scam.
