I received a call from this number just as two British gas engineers (who came to install a smart meter) had left my premises. I didn't answer because I was already on the phone to British gas to make a complaint but about something the engineers broke. I have since called British gas and told them about this number and they said it definitely wasn't them and that they'll be investigating this incident and potentially the engineers that came to my home that day.

Called yesterday, came up as 'Fank'. The 'caller' disconnected immediately.

British gas returning a call regarding a complaint I'd lodged a few days prior. BG confirmed to me by email that it was them who had been ringing me. Unfortunately because just the phone number that appears and not the name of British gas, I chose to ignore the call. The following email sent to me confirmed it was a genuine call from BG. BG Service <service_energy@britishgas.co.uk> 10:21 (52 minutes ago) to me Good morning I have attempted calling you today regarding your complaint but i could not reach you. May you please advise the best time to contact you. Regards, Complaints Handler British Gas Home Energy

I was really only suspicious because they called me today and said my bill was overdue, but it is due to be paid today, so technically it is not overdue. I told them they were being cheeky. I wouldn't have paid it over the phone anyway. They knew the first half of my postcode, my bill due date and the exact amount owed. DON'T BE FOOLED!!!

Pretending to be British Gas. Had the first few letters of my post code and the amount on my last bill. It still gave off some big red flags, like the caller ID not showing British Gas but "FANK"... and then when I said I would call British Gas back separately they tried to get me to stay on the line and pressure me to pay immediately. I then did contact British Gas and they did not recognise the number as theirs. BEWARE

They call 2-4 times most weekdays. I'm not sure if they are linked to British Gas but their name usually comes up on screen when they call so I am somewhat dubious.

This is a scam demanding money owed to British gas do not answer or give money spoke to British gas and they have not phoned me in months it is a call centre in India British gas are looking into why this number has been able to access their customers details as they knew my fiances name address and the exact amount that was owed to British gas

got a call from this number with the word FANK where the number should be and was a few minutes after making a written complaint about excessive DD payments so probably from B-gas; although why not use that name rather than FANK?
