Huge scam - same as above. Called said my number would be cancelled - could not tell me what my number or name was and asked for my email address which I shared, but then sent a link to my email - I of course did not click on it - scam

o2 scam

Caller told me she was ringing from O2. She had an Indian accent. She said that due to customers complaining about technical issues whilst making calls, O2 had decided to issue a technical upgrade to all customers. Due to this upgrade my SIM card will be disconnected tomorrow morning & a new SIM card will arrive in the post between 9-5pm tomorrow. But to ensure that it would be sent to the correct address would I give her my email address . I said that if she had my account details then she could at least tell me what my name was, and I wanted to know something from her, before I gave her any information. I had already mentioned that I considered her to be a scam call. She just shouted at me “ Tomorrow we’re going to disconnect your phone “ and cut the call. When I went on to the O2 website, it states that firmly that they would never call and ask you to confirm your email address, so this must be a known scam.

Another Tesco Mobile customer here. The caller didn’t like me asking questions and just came across as a scammer.
