Caller claimed to be from a medical alarm company. I hung up straight away.

Female caller looking for my late mum. She claimed to be from NHS SCOTLAND but had an Indian accent. As she REFUSED to say how she got number , I put phone down, I'm a TPS!

I would categorise this call as potentially harassing. I answered call and male caller with accent which could have been Asian asked for Mrs Bennett. I told them I was not Mrs Bennett and who were they? They responded that they were from Medical Health Services (for a moment I thought might be NHS and this person does not understand what organisation they are working for). I asked where they got our telephone number from and he indicated they had it from a survey. I said: in which case please remove us from your database. Then I put the phone down. We very rarely get this type of call now, but it is frustrating to receive them especially if you are expecting a genuine healtcare-related call as my mother was. As for other callers, I think to myself "who can you trust these days?". With all the terrible news about health services and data protection I mistrust everything and am told I am paranoid and a curtain twitcher which I have used of myself jokingly in the past. Sophie

Girl with Asian accent said she was from medical services ,she knew my name ,it was to do with a personal alarm to wear round my neck,she wanted my date of birth,I told her I didn't need any alarm and hung up,this is a scam.

Called and said eligible for a medical services alert. Had address details but wanted birth date. Said send form but won't give you birth date

My Mum and I just received a call from this no. I answered, had the usual delays with these calls, so I knew it was dodgy right away. The guy asked for my Mum - I said this her daughter, can I ask who's calling please? He paused for a good few seconds and said his name was Jason (with an Asian accent), and that he was calling from Medical Services. Then proceeded to ask where my Mum was right now quite aggressively - to which I replied what it was about and if you're not the NHS, then go away!! This was in an aggressive manner also. I then hung and he hasn't called back (because some of them do). Think he got the message. Do you honestly think I'm buttoned up the back?!?! Or my Mum is? I get really fed up with these calls, especially when target pensioners. My Mum is still as sharp as a tack and would've reacted the same way, but not everyone would. How do they sleep at night?!?!

Caller knew a female family members name (It is fairly easy for scammers to match names to phone numbers in today's world.) He had to ask if he was speaking to "her-name", even though my voice is clearly a male and obviously in the wrong age group! Our number is on TPS (no cold calls) register but I suspect they obtained our details from another source.
