Did not answer but have read the reports and could see how some elderly people would be caught out by this, er worrying.
automated told me he was health care worker giving me a pendant for emergencies
The caller appears to be on an auto loop and only repeated set paragraphs. Declined to advise who they are calling from or who the male caller was. The call came into an Insurance Motor claims team, therefore had no relation to an actual human. Very concerned.
Very concerned that vulnerable people could be caught out with this scam
Cold call trying to sell me alarm pendant. Claimed to know I was on long term medication - which I am - how did they know? How did they know that and my phone number. Scarey!

New phone has call block button. Used it.
Trying to sell an alarm pendant.
Called office number and claimed to have details identifying me as having a health risk. Wouldn't go off script and talked over me. Blocked
Targets pensioners by trying to buy an alarm pendant. Pretty sure this is a scam.
Polite well-spoken young man. Didn't respond to my querying that he was 'local'. Said he 'had a list' of people over 70 with health needs. I burst out laughing - this is ridiculous - and asked what list was it, where did he get it. Short pause. Started his script again. I asked again where the list was from, and would he get off his script and answer me. Longer pause. Started script again. I interrupted - if you're not getting off your script then there's no point continuing this. He hung up.
Lifeline alarm pendant spam/scam/cold callers. Blocked.
