Had a call while in hospital, supposedly from 3G stating my sim will shut down in 2 days as the network has gone over to 5 g and my sim will not be supported. Very clever scam don’t be fooled

An Indian-sounding caller told me my SIM card would stop working in two days and insisted on sending me a new one. I told him I was away on holiday and no one was home to receive it. He got angry, said they’d stop my card anyway, and then hung up.
Definitely a scam — don’t fall for it if you get a similar call!

Scam call from portraying as someone from EE. Sent the call to screen and they called straight back to try again.

Scam trying to get me to read out a one-time code sent by EE as they 'need to send me a new sim card'. The Indian scammer called himself 'Kelvin' and was reading from a script and would not deviate from it, despite me keeping him on the call for nearly 30 minutes...

As above, said my SIM card was expiring. I told her she was talking nonsense, which she was, hung up and blocked the number.

Indian chap called said he was from EE asking for my wife's DOB and other details as my wife's sim card will expire in four days. She does not have an EE sim. This number is a landline operated by Colt Technology Services and located in Telford England. He was pushy and we were immediately suspicious, told him I'd call EE to verify him, EE don't seem to have an email or phone number where I can get through to talk to a person - I'm guessing that's why he's pretending to be from them. We've blocked the number.

Similarly, an Indian lady purported to be from EE Network and informed me that my SIM card needed updating which I found odd. As I am an existing EE customer, I asked her for more details about my account. At this point, she hung up.
