Called saying from sky to renew my TV insurance. I told him I didn't have a TV or insurance for it so he told me I was lying. Had a nice to and fro to waste his time.

Received a call claiming to be from our energy provider (I knew she wasn't as we only have contact online). Caller said she believed we had been overcharged on our latest invoice. Knowing this was a fraudulent call I wanted to see where she was going with it. She asked me to look at our latest bill and tried to let me believe she was from our energy provider by giving me our meter number, our address and postcode. All of this information is freely available to any commercial energy provider. She then asked me to check a box where our fixed rate end date shows and give her the date. I said if you're from our energy provider you know this. She said she would call back and speak to our accounts team. I told her not to bother as they won't provide the details either. They are basically scamming to try and move you to another energy provider, I assume they earn a fee for doing this.

Claimed to be from EDF but extremely unprofessional 'what is the use of that?' when I said I was unable to put them through to the person responsible at that moment in time. Time wasting and highly likely to be a scam.

Called claiming to be from British Gas giving our company name and address. I asked him if he'd ever searched for the telephone number he was calling from to show what everyone was saying about them. He hung up on me! :-)

The reason I say dangerous is not because the lady tried to get money, however, she did lie and say she was from our current electric company (lie number 1), with whom we have a contract, EDF (lie number 2) and tried to push me to put her through to accounts, of which of course she would have tried to get money or info, somehow. She said it was regarding our next invoice with them (lie number 3). I told her to email the info through to the accounts contact then as if we are a current client and it's regarding the next invoice then she's sure to have all the accounts details. Of which she got annoyed of course and I ended the call. Don't engage!!

Calling from "EDF" about upcoming billing issue. then stated it was british gas before correcting themselves. Very pushy. Complete scam

Got call today they have previously used 01840370089. scammers

Claim to be from British Gas Lite and need to verify our meter number. Told him I would call British Gas back with it and he got very angry. Beware possible scam but I hung up on him anyway.
