Guy , Indian speaking who knew my Name, address & DOB. Said I had a refund of £9065 from PPI. I would receive a call tomorrow at 10am regarding a cheque being delivered. Asked if I did online banking , I told him no! Local number… blocked!

The calli I received was from an Asian gent and it was to do with a car finance refund application I had made. Call did not go any further as I know I have never made any such application.

Same scam as the others have experienced below. Told that I would be handed a cheque for £9,065 from a solicitor once I handed over a Pays safe card voucher for £100. Eathan had a strong Indian accent who said he was calling from Birmingham but when challenged he couldn't tell me what the weather was like in Birmingham or name the part of the city he lived. 💯% scam callers from India, again!

Had the same call from this number black horse £9065.00 check and a guy called Eden or Etan called and second time to go through what I needed to do unfortunately I was too busy to talk so number now blocked

Had a 2nd call back saying lady Wendy could call at door to drop cheque for over£9000 but needed signature before handing over the cheque! We were told to obtain a £100 “one for all” gift card which we supposedly would give Wendy before we received the cheque! We politely then told the man where to go

Just took a call from an asian man, claiming to be from a PPI payback company who said my claim was successful and I would be receiving £8771 and my reference was PCL1017. He knew my name and address but wanted my d.o.b. as confirmation for the claim. He also asked who I banked with. I am due to receive a call tomorrow before someone delivers me my paperwork and I guess a cheque (not holding my breath). I will wait and see what happens and deal with whoever comes here in the appropriate manner should they not be who they claim to be.

Same scam - knew my name had old address. Claimed I had a cheque for £8,895 ended call and blocked number.

Knew my name and address but not date of birth. Claimed they had a cheque for £8995 waiting for me. Definitely a scam

Same scam again: cheque from Black Horse £8,895.00, but needed address for delivery. Not falling for it.

Caller knew my name and date of birth but not my address. Claimed I had a cheque for £8,895.00 from Black Horse, needed address to deliver. Very dodgy scam.
