Claimed to be from BT, wanted me to download a screen-sharing app. I hung up and checked with Talk Talk, no record of BT contacting them.
Automated message claimed my Amazon subscription had expired, then background noise of a call center. I hung up.
Called mid-afternoon on my private, unlisted residential line. Call ended once my answering machine kicked in after 6-7 rings. Yet another anonymous pest caller. Have been registered with TPS for over a decade.
Called14 March 2023 1.50 pm telling me my bank card had been used many times put phone down
Answered the call and they hung up right away.
Our answerphone picked up; it was just static on the line. Better than usual scam calls.
Indians pretending to be BT Openreach (who never call retail customers), did not know my name and some garbled message about variable internet speeds. Usual random scammer routine that continues with 'install AnyDesk so we can steal all your money'
Hung up on answering, Googled the number, scamming from Oxford
Call ended before I could even answer.
Definitely dodgy!
As soon as we responded, they hung up.
Hung up on answering, Googled the number, definitely a scam from Oxford.
Called on 14th March at 1:50 pm, claiming my bank card had been misused. I hung up immediately.
Pretending to be BT Openreach, Indian accent, didn’t know my name. Usual scam routine involving AnyDesk software to steal money.
Said from BT but I had just rang Talk Talk and they said they would text me after testing line. By said they were ringing on behalf of Talk Talk but wanted me to download a screen sharing app so they could test speed if internet. Sounded dodgy do I didn’t proceed with download and hung up. Phoned Talk Talk back and they couldn’t see that BT had been asked to intervene.
Called mid-afternoon on my private residential unlisted landline number. Call broke off as soon as the answering machine 'leave message' at my end auto-activated, after 6-7 rings. A pest anonymous caller. Yes, I have been registered with TPS for over 10 years. London commuter belt (south Bucks).
Definitely dodgy !
Automated saying my Amazon has expired and I had been charged £95. Then I could hear a call centre background noise. I hung up.
Rung off before could answer
hung up immediately I answered
Hung up as soon as we responded
Our answerphone answered the call and it was just "static" on the line. Much better than the usual rubbish you get from these vermin.
