Called me and told his name was Mike in the worst made-up american accent possible. Asked me how was virgin media performing in my area, told him brilliant (I dont use VM). Later offered me a 30% discount on some new made up bundle which I rejected and deflected with a question by asking his real name. He insisted on Mike so I told him that he sounded like some Rajesh from India. He hung up immediately - clowns!

Scam - came up as Lydney area code, offered me 30% off my EE bill for no apparent reason and started asking for my details. Hung up, clearly a scam.

Upon answering the call, there was a few seconds delay before anybody spoke to me. Caller said he was from Virgin Media, which I have never had anything to do with, so hung up as was obviously either a marketing or a potential scam call.

Caller was asking for my EE password in order give me 30% off my bill. I said i didn’t know it. They asked for my email I said I didn’t know it. He kept pushing. I told them to email me if they are who they say they are as they would have that ability and there is no need for me to confirm it. They hung up.

Caller claimed to be offering 20% discount on my EE contract... then passed me to her supervisor who said 30%, but neither could articulate properly why they would offer that. When they asked for my EE password, I told them I wouldn't provide that to a cold caller and that I would hang up and redial through EE's customer service number. Very obviously a scam. PS A previous comment mentions the name Lydia coming up on the phone. My phone showed Lydney, which is the town that corresponds with the area code: 01594

Caller mumbled about car payments, then just stopped talking. Strange and pointless call.
