Claiming to be British Gas, I called them scammers. They called twice today!

Claiming to be British Gas, kept telling them they are scammers. They called yesterday twice and again today!

Claiming to be from Scottish Power and attempting to glean information from our electricity bill saying there is some mismatch between the meter number and our address. Obviously a scam although I don't quite understand how it works.

Said was calling from our provider Total Energies saying a problem with our meter, they could only confirm our meter number not our account number trying to gain information, told them to email or write to us and hung up kept trying so I told them I had googled number and it showed as a scam and they hung up.

Claims to be EDF. Very persistent. Said that due to technical glitch, our meter readings and those of neighbouring businessess have been mixed up ?????

Claimed to be from British Gas regarding meter issues, was persistent rang twice after I hung up. I do not have a British Gas account anymore!! He still did know a lot about us. Which I did not confirm nor give any further information.

Rang 3 times claiming to be from Smartest Energy asking questions about our "meter issue". We politely told them to stop calling and put the phone down on them.

Claimed to be from our business electricity supplier and said there was an issue with our meter, wanted me to confirm details over the phone I said we do not answer questions over the phone and to write to us, there are no issues with the meter this is a scam call.

Smelled fishy when the guy "transferred me to his supervisor" but just handed the phone across to another man with a similar accent. I hung up and called British Gas directly, who confirmed it was a scam call and was not from them
