Had a phone call echoing what most people on here have already said. They knew me name, address, washing machine make and told me that my warranty had run out and they would offer me a warranty for £9 a month. Seemed legit until they asked me who I banked with, to which I explained that I did not want to disclose this over the phone so if they could send me the details via my email I would look over them and see if I wanted the cover. The person on the phone tried to convince me that they only wanted certain details and the details I would be giving would only allow them to set up a direct debit to start in the new year. I once again told them I do not feel comfortable giving out my details over the phone so please send me info via email. This prompted the phone to be hung up. Be careful, this seemed very legit and and the way the caller was speaking didn't give you much opportunity to say no!

Appliance warranty scam targeting vulnerable people, probly a con, blocked

Called me when I was on a Teams meeting and did not notice my Phone gave a suspected scam alert and rather distracted. they had my address. I became more suspicious when they asked me the make of my washing machine as I have insurance policy and thought it was just a courtesy call as my premium may have changed, they came across as very friendly and English accent. then proceeded to tell me about the monthly Plan, half listening, then asked me who I banked with! Alarms bells rang as I said "you know who I bank with" and the phone line went dead. looked the number up and they are a company in Brighton, obviously making scam calls. I called them back and they said my name straight away, So I said your last caller cut me off and you're a scam company and should be ashamed of yourselves and told them to F**K Off.
