Said he was investigating a fraud to someone i send money to. Asked if i met the person online or if I knew them face to face. I told them it was my daughter and he said he'll be back in touch. Clearly it was a scam.

Called several times. Claimed to be from legal firm in California called Newsom. Asserted that I owned shares which an investment company called HDM Holdings wanted to buy from me for a sum around £100k. Claimed that the records prior to 2017 were not complete, but did not seem fazed when I said that I divested the said shares about 20 years ago when the company was wound up,. Still insisted on sending me an agreement that if I signed (and supplied ID) would pay me the proceeds within two weeks. The websites of the entities referenced look pretty vacuous and riddled with silly errors like quoting department email addresses as "example@example.com". Clear scam and a dangerous one. Calling number was spoofed, caller explained that this was to comply with UK law!

An American man told me I owned shares in something called Bass something. Total nonsense. Hung up quickly.

Keep getting similar calls pretending to be someone else, clearly a nuisance.
