Caller asked for me by name, then proceeded to say that I qualified for a personal health alarm. Wanted my bank details. Told him to F off and hung up

My stepfather received a call yesterday claiming to be from 365 Medical Alerts saying he qualified for an upgraded health safety alarm that would cost only £29.99 per month. He was asked if he was in charge of my own finances then they took his bank account number and sort code. He has never dealt with this company before this call.

Trying to get details for health insurance

Claimed to be offering a personal health alarm. I just requested they remove me from list and don't call again, then blocked number. This is first time I have had a call like this and they are obviously targetting older possibly vulnerable people. Its time to laws in this country actually banned this type of cold calling scam and protected people.
