Caller said they were Barclays' fraud department. They wanted my account number and some other personal info. Sounded very suspicious, so I hung up.

Caller knew a lot of my personal details but something felt off. Claimed to need info to reverse a payment. Contacted Barclays directly – they didn't know anything about it.

Said they were from Barclays and needed my confirmation on a transaction. Felt fishy, so I didn't give them any information and called Barclays myself. It was a scam!

Claim to be Barclaycard, usually have a lot of information about you already and want you to authorise a payment by responding to a text message...claim that by authorising it they can reverse it and cancel it. FRAUD! Do not want you to call back and very cagey about info. Note this is one digit off barclaycards official number!

08001510901 - DO NOT ANSWER THIS IS A SCAM....... Text message received claiming to be from Barclaycard saying that the card has been blocked due to suspicious activity and that the card has been blocked and a member of the fraud team will be in contact.

Quite convincing but asked for the account number which Barclays wouldn’t need to do. Very realistic - knew date of birth, mother maiden name etc.

Caller claimed to be Barclaycard Fraud Protection. They queried a transaction relating to a COVID Test, which was also a scam. They asked me about the web site address link in the original fraudeulent scam, then told me that there had been a lot of scams. They then sent me a text with a code but then asked me to tell them the code they had just sent me. This made no sense, so I asked again who this was and if I could call them back. They then hung up.
